Abstract
A display that includes a plurality of contiguous pixel areas. Each pixel area is divided into subpixels for displaying and a photodetector for imaging. The display can be configured into a display mode to display information using the subpixels for displaying or an imaging mode to capture image information using the photodetectors for imaging.
Claims20
A display comprising:
- a plurality of contiguous pixel areas, wherein each pixel area is divided into subpixels for displaying and a photodetector for imaging, and wherein the display can be configured into a display mode to display information using the subpixels or an imaging mode to capture image information using the photodetectors.
A mobile computing device comprising:
- a display that includes a plurality of contiguous pixel areas, wherein each pixel area is divided into subpixels for displaying and a photodetector for imaging;
- and
- a processor coupled to the display and configured by software to configure the display in a display mode to display information using the subpixels or in an imaging mode to capture image information using the photodetectors.
A mobile computing device comprising:
- a front surface comprising a display, wherein the display includes pixels for transmitting light to display information and pixels for receiving light to obtain images.
