Notification channels for notifications of a computing device

A computing device comprising:

• an output device;
• and
• one or more processors;
• and
• a storage component storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
• receive a notification generated by a notification source;
• determine a set of notification channels defined by the notification source, each notification channel having one or more parameters defined by the notification source;
• determine a particular notification channel from the set of notification channels that is assigned to the notification by the notification source;
• and
• determine one or more parameters of the particular notification channel,
• wherein the output device outputs an indication of the notification according to the one or more parameters of the particular notification channel.

A computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions, that when executed, cause at least one processor of a computing device to:

• receive a notification generated by a notification source;
• determine a set of notification channels defined by the notification source, each notification channel having one or more parameters defined by the notification source;
• determine a particular notification channel from the set of notification channels that is assigned to the notification by the notification source;
• determine one or more parameters of the particular notification channel;
• and
• cause an indication of the notification according to the one or more parameters of the particular notification channel to be output by the computing device.
