Abstract
System and method for uplink precoding in a communication system. In one embodiment, an apparatus is operable in a communication system and includes processing circuitry configured to identify an antenna element of a user equipment to disregard for uplink precoding, and provide an instruction to direct the user equipment to remove an antenna port associated with the antenna element from a codebook employed by the user equipment to precode a communication within the communication system.
Claims21
An apparatus operable in a communication system, comprising:
- processing circuitry configured to:
- identify an antenna element of a user equipment to disregard for uplink precoding, and
- provide an instruction to direct said user equipment to remove an antenna port associated with said antenna element from a codebook employed by said user equipment to precode a communication within said communication system.
A method of operating an apparatus in a communication system, comprising:
- identifying an antenna element of a user equipment to disregard for uplink precoding;
- and
- providing an instruction to direct said user equipment to remove an antenna port associated with said antenna element from a codebook employed by said user equipment to precode a communication within said communication system.
An apparatus operable in a communication system, comprising:
- processing circuitry configured to
- receive an instruction to remove an antenna port associated with an antenna element of said apparatus to disregard for uplink precoding;
- and
- remove said antenna port associated with said antenna element from a codebook employed by said apparatus to precode a communication within said communication system.
A method of operating an apparatus in a communication system, comprising:
- receiving an instruction to remove an antenna port associated with an antenna element of said apparatus to disregard for uplink precoding;
- and
- removing said antenna port associated with said antenna element from a codebook employed by said apparatus to precode a communication within said communication system.
