Preference-based re-evaluation and personalization of reviewed subjects

A computer system for processing reviews to generate personalized recommendations based on a user's preferences, the computer system comprising:

• one or more computer processors;
• one or more computer readable storage media;
• program instructions stored on the one or more computer readable storage media for execution by at least one of the one or more computer processors, the program instructions comprising instructions to:
• receive user preferences relating to a subject category;
• process a query to retrieve one or more reviews for a plurality of subjects of the subject category, wherein each review is associated with a review score;
• adjust each review score of the one or more reviews for each subject based on user preferences for a corresponding subject category and calculating a subject score based on the adjusted review scores for each subject;
• and
• generate a ranked list of subjects according to the subject score of each subject.

A computer program product for processing reviews to generate personalized recommendations based on a user's preferences, the computer program product comprising a computer readable storage medium having program instructions embodied therewith, the program instructions executable by a computer to cause the computer to:

• receive user preferences relating to a subject category;
• process a query to retrieve one or more reviews for a plurality of subjects of the subject category, wherein each review is associated with a review score;
• adjust each review score of the one or more reviews for each subject based on user preferences for a corresponding subject category and calculating a subject score based on the adjusted review scores for each subject;
• and
• generate a ranked list of subjects according to the subject score of each subject.
