Systems and methods for suggesting creative types for online content items to an advertiser

A computer-implemented method for generating creative type suggestions for a content provider, said method using a computing device including a processor and a memory, said method comprising:

• training a content type model using (i) historical serving performance data of content items, (ii) content provider information, and (iii) adoption rates of previously suggested creative types, the content provider information indicating a content asset;
• determining a preliminary plurality of creative types for suggestion to the content provider using at least the content type model;
• modifying, using the content type model, the preliminary plurality of creative types for suggestion to the content provider based on (i) the content asset included in the content provider information, and (ii) adoption rates of previously suggested creative types to generate a final creative type suggestion;
• and
• presenting the final creative type suggestion to the online content provider.

A computer system comprising:

• an output device;
• at least one memory;
• and
• one or more processors configured to:
• train a content type model using (i) historical serving performance data of content items, (ii) content provider information, and (iii) adoption rates of previously suggested creative types, the content provider information indicating a content asset;
• determine a preliminary plurality of creative types for suggestion to the content provider using at least the content type model;
• modify, using the content type model, the preliminary plurality of creative types for suggestion to the content provider based on (i) the content asset included in the content provider information, and (ii) adoption rates of previously suggested creative types to generate a final creative type suggestion;
• and
• present the final creative type suggestion to the online content provider.

A computer-implemented method for retrieving generated creative type suggestions for from a content type suggestion system, said method using a computing device including a processor and a memory, said method comprising:

• transmitting, by a content provider computing device, content provider information to a content type suggestion system to train a content type model using (i) historical serving performance data of content items, (ii) content provider information, and (iii) adoption rates of previously suggested creative types, the content provider information including a content asset;
• providing, by the content provider computing device, adoption rates of previously suggested creative types to modify a preliminary plurality of creative types for suggestion using the content type model to generate a final creative type suggestion;
• and
• receiving, by the content provider computing device, the final creative type suggestion from the content type suggestion system.
