Model variable candidate generation device and method

A model variable candidate generation method for generating explanatory variable candidates to be used as candidates for an explanatory variable in generation of a prediction model, the method comprising:

• causing a data input unit included in a computer to input analysis data in which each entry has one or more items and the items have item values;
• causing a first item determination unit included in the computer to preliminarily set properties of the items included in the analysis data as first item properties;
• causing a data property determination unit included in the computer to determine data properties which are properties of the analysis data on the basis of the first item properties of the items included in the analysis data;
• causing a second item determination unit included in the computer to determine properties of the items included in the analysis data as second item properties on the basis of the data properties of the analysis data;
• and
• causing a variable candidate generation unit included in the computer to generate the explanatory variable candidates by selecting from the items or processing the items on the basis of the second item properties of the items included in the analysis data.
