Abstract
An example embodiment includes: a determination unit that, based on an image including an eye of a recognition subject, determines whether or not a colored contact lens is worn; and a processing unit that, when it is determined by the determination unit that the colored contact lens is worn, performs a process of improving accuracy of iris matching on the recognition subject.

An iris recognition apparatus comprising:
- a memory configured to store instructions;
- and
- a processor configured to execute the instructions to:
- determine whether a colored contact lens is worn based on an image including an eye of a recognition subject;
- and
- instruct the recognition subject to look at a bright object in order to cause contraction of a pupil due to a pupillary light reflex on the recognition subject when it is determined that the colored contact lens is worn.
An iris recognition apparatus comprising:
- a memory configured to store instructions;
- and
- a processor configured to execute the instructions to:
- determine whether a colored contact lens is worn based on an image including an eye of a recognition subject;
- and
- instruct the recognition subject to rotate the colored contact lens when it is determined that the colored contact lens is worn.
An iris recognition method comprising:
- determining whether a colored contact lens is worn based on an image including an eye of a recognition subject;
- and
- instructing the recognition subject to look at a bright object in order to cause contraction of a pupil due to a pupillary light reflex on the recognition subject when it is determined that the colored contact lens is worn.
An iris recognition method comprising:
- determining whether a colored contact lens is worn based on an image including an eye of a recognition subject;
- and
- instructing the recognition subject to rotate the colored contact lens when it is determined that the colored contact lens is worn.
A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored therein a program for performing a method of authenticating a user comprising:
- determining whether a colored contact lens is worn based on an image including an eye of a recognition subject;
- and
- instructing the recognition subject to look at a bright object in order to cause contraction of a pupil due to a pupillary light reflex on the recognition subject when it is determined that the colored contact lens is worn.
A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored therein a program for performing a method of authenticating a user comprising:
- determining whether a colored contact lens is worn based on an image including an eye of a recognition subject;
- and
- instructing the recognition subject to rotate the colored contact lens when it is determined that the colored contact lens is worn.
