Abstract
Provided are a system and method of encrypting a folder in a device. The device for controlling access to the folder includes a communication part configured to transmit, to a server, an encryption key generation request with respect to the folder, and receive, from the server, an encryption key associated with the folder that is generated in response to the encryption key generation request, wherein the encryption key generation request includes an identification of the folder and authentication data of a user who accesses the folder is an authorized user; and a controller configured to authenticate the user by using the encryption key.
Claims18
A first device comprising:
- a transceiver configured to communicate with a second device and a server;
- a display configured to display a folder icon corresponding to an encrypted folder stored in the second device;
- an input interface that receives a first user input to select the folder icon from a user of the first device, and receive a second user input to input user authentication data;
- and
- a processor configured to:
- control the transceiver to transmit a key request for decrypting the encrypted folder corresponding to the selected folder icon, to the server;
- control the transceiver to receive, from the server, a key corresponding to the key request;
- control the transceiver to transmit, to the second device, a request for accessing the encrypted folder, the request including the received key;
- control the transceiver to receive data, from the second device, included in the encrypted folder;
- and
- control the display to display data included in the encrypted folder.
A method of controlling a first device, the method comprising:
- displaying a folder icon corresponding to an encrypted folder stored in a second device;
- receiving a first user input to select the folder icon from a user of the first device;
- receiving a second user input to input user authentication data;
- transmitting a key request for decrypting the encrypted folder corresponding to the selected folder icon, to a server;
- receiving, from the server, a key corresponding to the key request;
- transmitting, to the second device, a request for accessing the encrypted folder, wherein the request including the received key;
- receiving data, from the second device, included in the encrypted folder;
- and
- displaying data included in the encrypted folder.
A second device comprising:
- a transceiver configured to communicate with a first device and a server;
- and
- a processor configured to:
- provide an encrypted folder stored in the second device, to the first device,
- receive a request for accessing the encrypted folder and a key for decrypting the encrypted folder from the first device,
- decrypt the encrypted folder using the key, and
- transmit, data included in the folder is decrypted, to the first device.
