Systems and methods of generating augmented reality (ar) objects

A method for generating one or more augmented reality (AR) objects by a device, the method comprising:

• capturing, by a camera of the device based on instructions from an application executed on the device, a digital image of a physical object;
• segmenting the digital image into one or more areas corresponding to the physical object;
• generating, using data from the digital image in the one or more areas corresponding to the physical object, a two-dimensional augmented reality (AR) object representing the physical object, wherein the two-dimensional AR object is an editable version of the physical object and is divided into a plurality of editable parts, the plurality of editable parts being editable based on a user input;
• and
• displaying an output image including the two-dimensional AR object based on instructions from the application.

A computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that when executed cause one or more processors of a device to:

• segment a digital image of a physical object into one or more areas corresponding to the physical object;
• generate, using data from the digital image in the one or more areas corresponding to the physical object, a two-dimensional augmented reality (AR) object representing the physical object, wherein the two-dimensional AR object is an editable version of the physical object and is divided into a plurality of editable parts, the plurality of editable parts being editable based on a user input;
• and
• display an output image including the two-dimensional AR object.
