Abstract
Systems, devices, and methods for managing a security system are described. A method may comprise receiving a request to join a security system by a user device. A whitelist may indicate devices, device types, device makes, device models, and/or device firmware versions authorized to join the security system. The method may further comprise enabling, based on a determination that the whitelist comprises an indication that the user device is authorized to join the security system, the user device to exchange data with the security system.
Claims42
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a first computing device located at a premises and from a second computing device located external to the premises, information indicating:
- one or more devices authorized to communicate with a premises management system;
- and
- one or more rules for communicating with at least one of the one or more authorized devices;
- determining, based on the information indicating the one or more authorized devices, that a third computing device is authorized to communicate with the premises management system;
- and
- enabling, based on the determining that the third computing device is authorized to communicate with the premises management system, the third computing device to communicate, using the one or more rules, with the premises management system.
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a first computing device located at a premises and from a second computing device located at the premises, a request to communicate with a premises management system;
- determining that information, received from a third computing device located external to the premises and indicating one or more devices authorized to communicate with the premises management system, comprises an indication of the second computing device;
- and
- enabling, based on the determining that the information indicating the one or more devices authorized to communicate with the premises management system comprises the indication of the second computing device, the second computing device to communicate, using one or more rules received from the third computing device, with the premises management system.
A first computing device comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the first computing device to:
- receive, from a second computing device located external to a premises, information indicating:
- one or more devices authorized to communicate with a premises management system;
- and
- one or more rules for communicating with at least one of the one or more authorized devices;
- determine, based on the information indicating the one or more authorized devices, that a third computing device is authorized to communicate with the premises management system;
- and
- enable, based on the determining that the third computing device is authorized to communicate with the premises management system, the third computing device to communicate, using the one or more rules, with the premises management system.
A first computing device comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the first computing device to:
- receive, from a second computing device located at a premises, a request to communicate with a premises management system;
- determine that information, received from a third computing device located external to the premises and indicating one or more devices authorized to communicate with the premises management system, comprises an indication of the second computing device;
- and
- enable, based on determining that the information indicating the one or more devices authorized to communicate with the premises management system comprises the indication of the second computing device, the second computing device to communicate, using one or more rules received from the third computing device, with the premises management system.
