Abstract
A method and system for directing a browser or browsing application associated with a user to a targeted web site after the user performs at least two activations or “clicks” of his pointing device. The first “click” is typically on a communication provided by the system, serving as an intermediary, and the second “click” is typically on a first data object or web page of the intermediary, before the browser of the user is redirected to a second data object or targeted web page, typically associated with a party unrelated to the party or entity controlling the system.
Claims20
A method of delivering electronic content over a computer network via a server to a computer operated by a user, the method comprising the steps of:
- receiving a first identifier for a first data object from the computer via the server upon the user activating a first manually activatable link in an electronic communication sent to the computer, the first data object including a second manually activatable link for a second data object;
- providing the first data object to the computer in response to receiving the first identifier for the first data object;
- receiving a second identifier for the second data object from the computer, the second data object including a third manually activatable link for a third data object;
- and
- providing the second data object to the computer in response to receiving the second identifier for the second data object, the computer being directed to the third data object upon the third manually activatable link being activated by the user.
A method of delivering electronic content over a computer network via a server to a computer operated by a user, the method comprising the steps of:
- receiving a first identifier for a first landing page from the computer upon the user activating a first manually activatable link in an e-mail or a banner sent to the computer, the first landing page including a second manually activatable link for a second landing page;
- providing the first landing page to the computer in response to receiving the first identifier for the first landing page;
- receiving a second identifier for the second landing page from the computer, the second landing page including a third manually activatable link for a targeted website;
- and
- providing the second landing page to the computer in response to receiving the second identifier for the second landing page, the computer being directed to the targeted website upon the third manually activatable link being activated by the user.
A method of delivering electronic content over a computer network via a server to a computer operated by a user, the method comprising the steps of:
- sending an e-mail or a banner including a first manually activatable link to the computer in accordance with behavioral analysis of the user;
- receiving a first identifier for a first landing page from the computer upon the user activating the first manually activatable link, the first landing page including a second manually activatable link for a second landing page;
- dynamically creating the first landing page after receiving the first identifier, the first landing page including an image and a plurality of listings, the second manually activatable link being one of the listings of the first landing page;
- providing the first landing page to the computer in response to receiving the first identifier for the first landing page;
- receiving a second identifier for the second landing page from the computer, the second landing page including a third manually activatable link for a targeted website;
- dynamically creating the second landing page after receiving the second identifier, the second landing page including an image and a plurality of listings, the third manually activatable link being one of the listings of the second landing page;
- and
- providing the second landing page to the computer in response to receiving the second identifier for the second landing page, the computer being directed to the targeted website upon the third manually activatable link being activated by the user.
