A device, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory coupled to the processor and storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the device to be configured to:
• allocate a first cell group to a user equipment;
• and
• send first configuration indication information to the user equipment, wherein the first configuration indication information indicates instructions to generate an encryption key with a security configuration parameter of a second cell group associated with the user equipment in a data transmission process with a cell in the first cell group.

A device, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory coupled to the processor and storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the device to be configured to:
• receive first configuration indication information from a network device, wherein the first configuration indication information instructs to generate an encryption key with a security configuration parameter of a second cell group associated with the device;
• perform a data transmission process with a cell in a first cell group;
• and
• configure the first cell group according to the first configuration indication information.
