Abstract
A member for use in undersea applications comprising a plurality of conduits assembled into a bundle; the bundle being wrapped with a pressure-sensitive tape comprising a backing, a layer of corrosion-resistant filaments on one surface of the backing, and pressure-sensitive adhesive layer that coats the filaments and binds them to the backing.

1-20. (canceled)
A tape comprising a backing and a layer of corrosion-resistant yarn adjacent one surface of the backing.
A member for use in undersea applications comprising
- at least one tubular member wrapped in a fiber reinforced tape comprising
- a backing;
- and
- a layer of polymer coated corrosion-resistant yarn comprising polymer-coated glass yarn, aramid yarn, UHMW polyethylene yarn, polypropylene yarn, carbon filament, or combinations thereof adjacent one surface of the backing.
A method for constructing a member for undersea deployment is provided, which comprises:
- winding a wire reinforcement about tubular member(s);
- and
- winding a corrosion-resistant yarn material over the wire reinforcement;
- wherein the corrosion-resistant yarn is glass yarn, aramid yarn, UHMW polyethylene yarn, polypropylene yarn, carbon filament, or combinations thereof.
