Abstract
Some embodiments of the disclosure provide for a lighting system including a substrate. The lighting system includes several blue light emitting diodes (LEDs) supported by the substrate. The lighting system includes at least one red LED supported by the substrate. The lighting system includes a light conversion material covering the blue LEDs and the at least one red LED.

A lighting system, comprising:
- a substrate;
- at least one first emitting diode (LED) supported by the substrate and configured to emit light having a first color;
- a plurality of second LEDs supported by the substrate, with the plurality of second LEDs being a greater number than the at least one first LED and the plurality of second LEDs disposed on around an outer periphery of the substrate to surround the at least one first LED, the plurality of second LEDs being configured to emit light having a second color different than the first color;
- and
- a light conversion material covering the plurality of second LEDs and the at least one first LED, and wherein the light conversion material is configured to fluoresce light absorbed from the second LEDs in a color different from light emitted by the at least one first LED;
- wherein the plurality of second LEDs and the at least one first LED are connected in series to form a first string of LEDs.

A lighting system, comprising:
- a substrate;
- a plurality of first light emitting diodes (LEDs) supported by the substrate and configured to emit light having a first color;
- at least one second LED supported by the substrate and configured to emit light having a second color different than the first color;
- a light conversion material covering the first LEDs;
- a driver configured to provide a current greater than 0.1 mA and less than or equal to 1.0 mA to the first LEDs and the at least one second LED,
- wherein each of the at least one second LED is surrounded by a subset of the plurality of first LEDs;
- and
- wherein the plurality of first LEDs and the at least one second LED are connected in series to form a first string of LEDs.

A lighting system, comprising:
- a plurality of first light emitting diodes (LEDs), each fabricated on corresponding one of a plurality of first substrates and configured to emit light having a first color;
- at least one second LED fabricated on a second substrate and configured to emit light having a second color different than the first color;
- a common substrate supporting the plurality of first LEDs and the second LED;
- a light conversion material covering the plurality of first LEDs and the second LED, and wherein the light conversion material is configured to fluoresce any light absorbed from the first LEDs in a color different from light emitted by the second LED;
- wherein the plurality of first LEDs are greater in number than the at least one second LED and the plurality of first LEDs are disposed on around an outer periphery of the substrate, with none of the at least one second LED being disposed on the outer periphery of the substrate,
- wherein the plurality of first LEDs disposed on the outer periphery of the substrate surround the at least one second LED;
- and
- wherein the plurality of first LEDs and the second red LED are connected in series to form a first string of LEDs.
