Abstract
A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. In one aspect, an example method may include receiving information indicative of an eye gaze region. The method may include improving a graphics processing pipeline by based on the information indicative of the eye gaze region.
Claims30
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a processing unit, information indicative of an eye gaze region;
- generating, by the processing unit based on the eye gaze region, a sample count buffer, wherein the sample count buffer includes a respective sample count for each respective pixel of a plurality of pixels of a framebuffer, wherein the respective sample count for each respective pixel indicates a respective number of samples required to fragment shade the respective pixel;
- generating, by the processing unit, an intermediate buffer for spatial anti-alias rendering, wherein the intermediate buffer is configured to store a first plurality of samples at a first sample count per pixel and the framebuffer is configured to store a second plurality of samples at a second sample count per pixel, wherein the first plurality of samples is greater than the second plurality of samples, wherein the first sample count per pixel is higher than the second sample count per pixel;
- rendering, by the processing unit into the intermediate buffer, each respective pixel of the plurality of pixels at the first sample count to generate the first plurality of samples;
- and
- controlling, by the processing unit based on the respective sample count in the sample count buffer for each respective pixel, how many samples of the generated first plurality of samples for each respective pixel of the plurality of pixels are to be used for fragment shading.

A processing unit configured to:
- receive information indicative of an eye gaze region;
- generate, based on the eye gaze region, a sample count buffer, wherein the sample count buffer includes a respective sample count for each respective pixel of a plurality of pixels of a framebuffer, wherein the respective sample count for each respective pixel indicates a respective number of samples required to fragment shade the respective pixel;
- generate an intermediate buffer for spatial anti-alias rendering, wherein the intermediate buffer is configured to store a first plurality of samples at a first sample count per pixel and the framebuffer is configured to store a second plurality of samples at a second sample count per pixel, wherein the first plurality of samples is greater than the second plurality of samples, wherein the first sample count per pixel is higher than the second sample count per pixel;
- render, into the intermediate buffer, each respective pixel of the plurality of pixels at the first sample count to generate the first plurality of samples;
- and
- control, based on the respective sample count in the sample count buffer for each respective pixel, how many samples of the generated first plurality of samples for each respective pixel of the plurality of pixels are to be used for fragment shading.
