Abstract
The present disclosure is directed to an improved cookieless ecommerce platform. The proposed approach involves receiving a confirmation of an order for the purchase of an item initiated by a platform member to a platform partner. The order includes at least one of an assigned e-mail address and a social community user id. The platform scans communications to/from the platform member to the partner to determine when a communication involves a request for an order, and based on the scanning, determines when a member is entitled to a cashback or similar reward.
Claims20
A method of processing transactions associated with purchases/sales between a platform member and a platform vendor without the use of cookies, the method comprising:
- creating a member account for the platform member with an ecommerce platform, the member account including an e-commerce platform id including at least one of an assigned
- e-mail address and a social community user id belonging to the platform member to use when placing a request for an order;
- the e-commerce platform receiving communications between the platform member and platform vendor including confirmations of orders for the purchase of one or more product and/or services by the platform member from the platform vendor, the communications being addressed to the e-commerce platform id;
- the platform vendor sending order confirmations for the purchase of the one or more products and/or services to the e-commerce platform id without the use of cookies;
- the e-commerce platform intercepting the received communications between the platform member and platform vendor to identify those communications that are actual order confirmations from the platform vendor to the platform member;
- and
- based on the actual order confirmations identification, processing the actual order confirmations to authorize rewards to be received by the platform member.
A system for processing transactions associated with purchases/sales between a platform member and a platform vendor without the use of cookies, the method comprising:
- a memory for storing computer readable code;
- and
- a processor operatively coupled to the memory, the processor being configured to:
- create a member account for the platform member with an ecommerce platform, the member account including an e-commerce platform id including at least one of an assigned e-mail address and a social community user id belonging to the platform member to use when placing a request for an order;
- receive, by the e-commerce platform, communications between the platform member and platform vendor including confirmations of orders for the purchase of one or more product and/or services by the platform member from the platform vendor, the communications being addressed to the e-commerce platform id;
- send, by the platform vendor, order confirmations for the purchase of the one or more products and/or services to the e-commerce platform id without the use of cookies;
- intercept, by the e-commerce platform, the received communications between the platform member and platform vendor to identify those communications that are actual order confirmations from the platform vendor to the platform member;
- and
- based on the actual order confirmations identification, process the actual order confirmations to authorize rewards to be received by the platform member.
A computer readable media having instructions for causing a computer to process transactions associated with purchases/sales between a platform member and a platform vendor without the use of cookies, the instructions causing the computer to:
- create a member account for the platform member with an ecommerce platform, the member account including an e-commerce platform id including at least one of an assigned e-mail address and a social community user id belonging to the platform member to use when placing a request for an order;
- receive, by the e-commerce platform, communications between the platform member and platform vendor including confirmations of orders for the purchase of one or more product and/or services by the platform member from the platform vendor, the communications being addressed to the e-commerce platform id;
- send, by the platform vendor, order confirmations for the purchase of the one or more products and/or services to the e-commerce platform id without the use of cookies;
- intercept, by the e-commerce platform, the received communications between the platform member and platform vendor to identify those communications that are actual order confirmations from the platform vendor to the platform member;
- and
- based on the actual order confirmations identification, process the actual order confirmations to authorize rewards to be received by the platform member.
