Catheter

A catheter comprising:

• a mesh member having a tubular shape and being radially expandable and contractable;
• a first hollow shaft connected to a base end of the mesh member;
• a front end tip connected to a front end of the mesh member;
• a guiding film disposed on the mesh member, the guiding film having a front end located between a base end of the front end tip and a front end of the first hollow shaft;
• a second hollow shaft connected to the front end tip and disposed so as to protrude in a space inside the mesh member toward a base end side of the catheter, the second hollow shaft having a base end located between the front end of the first hollow shaft and the base end of the front end tip;
• a core wire having a front end connected to the front end of the mesh member and/or connected to the front end tip, extending along an outer periphery of the second hollow shaft, and extending inside the mesh member and inside the first hollow shaft so that a base end of the core wire is positioned at the base end side relative to a base end of the first hollow shaft;
• and
• a holding member having a substantially ring-like shape or a substantially C-like shape in a cross-sectional view, and provided at the core wire so as to cover the second hollow shaft.
