Abstract
Gold implant having a cross-section in the range of 20-100, preferably in the range of 20-40 μm for use in therapy to prevent or reduce capsular contracture. Further, the invention relates to a method of producing a gold-coated implant.
Claims24
A gold particle having a cross-section in the range of 20-100 μm and having a purity greater than 99.00% w/w for use in therapy to prevent or reduce capsular contracture.
A gold-coated implant, wherein the gold-coating comprises gold particles having a cross-section in the range of 20-1000 μm and a purity greater than 99.00% w/w.
A method for producing a gold-coated implant, comprising:
- a. providing an implant for use in a human or animal body;
- b. submerging the implant into a physiological acceptable coating solution composition comprising hyaluronic acid and gold particles having a cross-section in the range of 20-100 μm and a purity greater than 99.00% w/w at a concentration of at least 1 g/L of the physiological acceptable coating solution;
- c. retrieving the thus gold coated-implant from the solution;
- and
- d. allowing the gold-coated implant to dry.
A method for preventing or reducing capsular contracture, comprising:
- administering to a subject having an implant a gold particle having a cross-section in the range of 20-100 μm and having a purity greater than 99.00% w/w.
A method of preventing capsular contracture comprising:
- heating a gold particle to a temperature above 37° C. and below 42° C., prior to or after administering the gold-particle to a human that has an implant.
A method comprising heating a gold particle or a gold implant by magnetic resonance after the gold particle or a gold implant has been implanted into a human body, thereby increasing the amount of gold ions released from the gold particle or gold implant, in situ.
