Abstract
The present invention relates to polymeric nanoparticles comprising salinomycin and methods for treating certain diseases comprising administering these polymeric nanoparticles to a subject in need thereof.
Claims32
A method of reducing proliferation, survival, migration, or colony formation ability of a rapidly proliferating cell in a subject in need thereof comprising contacting the cell with a therapeutically effective amount of a composition comprising
- a) polymeric nanoparticles comprising a poly (lactic acid)-poly (ethylene glycol)-poly (propylene glycol)-poly (ethylene glycol) (PLA-PEG-PPG-PEG) tetra block copolymer, and;
- b) salinomycin;
- wherein the therapeutically effective amount is from about 0.025 mg/kg to about 5 mg/kg.

A method for treating cancer in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a composition comprising
- a) polymeric nanoparticles comprising a poly (lactic acid)-poly (ethylene glycol)-poly (propylene glycol)-poly (ethylene glycol) (PLA-PEG-PPG-PEG) tetra block copolymer, and;
- b) salinomycin;
- wherein the therapeutically effective amount is from about 0.025 mg/kg to about 5 mg/kg.

- b) salinomycin;
- wherein the therapeutically effective amount is from about 0.025 mg/kg to about 5 mg/kg.

- c) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
