Device for connecting body tissues

A device for connecting body tissues, the device comprising:

• a head part configured and arranged to be extended into a body opening, the head part including a longitudinal axis;
• a plurality of tissue staples accommodated in the head part in a storage position (7), the tissue staples including
• a linear main section, and
• two engagement sections projecting perpendicularly from the linear main section and each of the two engagement sections are aligned in a first plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis;
• two rotor elements configured and arranged to pivot about an axis parallel to the main sections of the plurality of tissue staples, and each of the rotor elements including a bearing surface configured and arranged to engage a respective engagement section of one of the plurality of tissue staples in order to rotate said tissue staple from the storage position into an operating position in which the tissue staple is arranged in a further plane which is oriented substantially perpendicularly to the first plane;
• and
• a slider configured and arranged to advance the tissue staple, which is present in the working position, in the further plane and to deform it into a clamping position about body tissue.
