Abstract
A catheter hub assembly includes a body. A pressure sensor is disposed within the body to sense pressure within a catheter and communicating with the body The body has a chamber formed therein having a predetermined volume. A stopper assembly, slideably moves to engage the body forming a gastight seal within the chamber for pushing a column of gas ahead of the stopper assembly as the stopper assembly moves from a first position to a second position.

An electronics assembly for a catheter comprising:
- a housing;
- a first circuitry disposed within said housing;
- a connector disposed on said housing, said connector including a second circuitry communicating with the first circuitry;
- a first catheter hub assembly having a first hub assembly housing, a pressure sensor disposed within said hub assembly housing to sense a pressure within a catheter communicating with said housing, the housing having a chamber formed therein, the chamber having a predetermined volume, the pressure sensor communicating with said second circuitry;
- and
- at least a second catheter hub assembly having a second hub assembly housing, a second pressure sensor disposed within the second hub assembly housing to sense a pressure within a catheter communicating with the second hub assembly housing, the housing having a chamber formed therein, the chamber having a predetermined volume, and the sensor communicating with the second circuitry.
