Abstract
A method of encoding print data performed by a host device is described in which a print request for a compound document is received; objects included in the compound document is classified into predetermined groups based on object attribute information; each of the predetermined groups is compressed according to a preset compression method; and the compressed groups is merged and the merged groups is transmitted to an image forming apparatus.
Claims15
A method of encoding print data performed by a host device, the method comprising:
- receiving a print request for a compound document;
- classifying objects included in the compound document into groups based on object attribute information indicating attributes respectively corresponding to the objects;
- compressing a group among the groups according to a set compression method corresponding to the group;
- and
- merging the groups including the compressed group and transmitting the merged groups to an image forming apparatus.
A host device comprising:
- an inputter/outputter to receive a print request;
- a communicator to transmit data to an image forming apparatus;
- and
- a controller to
- receive the print request for a compound document through the inputter/outputter,
- classify objects included in the compound document into groups based on object attribute information indicating attributes respectively corresponding to the objects,
- compress a group among the groups according to a set compression method corresponding to the group, and
- merge the groups including the compressed group and transmit the merged groups to an image forming apparatus through the communicator.
A non-transitory computer readable recording medium storing a program for executing a method of encoding print data performed by a host device on a computer, the method comprising:
- receiving a print request for a compound document;
- classifying objects included in the compound document into groups based on object attribute information indicating attributes respectively corresponding to the objects;
- compressing a group among the groups according to a set compression method;
- and
- merging the compressed groups including the compressed group and transmitting the merged groups to an image forming apparatus.
