Abstract
A method for manufacturing a waterproof and vapor-permeable shoe comprising the steps of providing an upper and a lining comprising at least one functional layer of vapor-permeable and waterproof material, providing an insole comprising a functional support sheet of vapor-permeable and waterproof material, coupling the peripheral edge of the functional layer of the lining to the peripheral edge of the functional sheet of the insole by way of a sealing waterproof adhesive so as to shape a sock of vapor-permeable and waterproof material, couple the upper to the outer surface of the lining by way of a vapor-permeable adhesive; and couple a sole to the upper and/or to the lining and/or to the insole.
Claims12
A method for manufacturing a waterproof and vapor-permeable shoe comprising the steps of:
- providing an upper having a vapor-permeable mesh/net structure and comprising a lower peripheral flap,
- providing a lining comprising a covering layer of vapor-permeable material and a functional layer made of vapor-permeable and waterproof material, the functional layer comprising a lower peripheral flap protruding from a peripheral edge of said covering layer,
- providing an insole comprising a functional support sheet made of waterproof and vapor-permeable material,
- providing a three-dimensional last, said last comprising a plant and having the shape of a foot having dimensions corresponding to the shoe to be manufactured,
- coupling the insole to said last so that an upper surface of said insole remains temporarily adhering to the plant of said last,
- fitting said lining on said last and folding back its lower peripheral flap protruding from said functional layer and attaching it to a bottom surface of a peripheral edge of said functional support sheet of the insole by a waterproof adhesive material,
- fitting said upper on said last above said lining and folding back the lower peripheral flap of the upper so as to place it on the outer surface of the lower peripheral flap folded back of the functional layer,
- over-injecting a sole of waterproof and vapor-permeable material onto said upper and onto the functional support sheet so that an outer peripheral edge of the sole surrounds and completely covers the lower peripheral flap folded back of the upper to form a single waterproof seal between the over-injected sole and the functional layer.
A waterproof and vapor-permeable shoe comprising:
- an upper having a vapor-permeable mesh/net structure, and comprising a lower peripheral flap,
- a lining comprising a covering layer made of vapor-permeable material and at least one functional layer made of vapor-permeable and waterproof material, the functional layer comprising a lower peripheral flap protruding from a peripheral edge of said covering layer,
- an insole comprising a functional support sheet made of waterproof and vapor-permeable material,
- the lower peripheral flap of the lining being folded back in order to protrude from said functional layer and being glued to a bottom surface of a peripheral edge of said functional support sheet by a waterproof adhesive material,
- the lower peripheral flap of the upper being placed on an outer surface of the lower peripheral flap folded back of the functional layer,
- the shoe further comprising a sole which is made of waterproof and vapor-permeable material and is over-injected onto said upper and onto the functional support sheet such that an outer peripheral edge of the sole surrounds and completely covers the lower peripheral flap folded back of the upper to form a single waterproof seal between the sole and the functional layer of the lining.
