Channel Selection Method and Apparatus

An access point, applied to a WiFi network, wherein the WiFi network comprises a first access point, a second access point, and a third access point;

• the access point is the first access point and supports connections on at least two different frequency bands, and the at least two different frequency bands comprises a first frequency band and a second frequency band;
• and the access point comprises a processor, a communications interface and a memory, the memory stores storing a plurality of processor-executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor and the communications interface to perform operations comprising:
• directly cascading, by using the first frequency band, to the second access point by using the second access point as a higher-level access point;
• and
• receiving a cascading access request of the third access point, and allow the third access point to directly cascade as a lower-level access point to the first access point by using the second frequency band.
