Managing ue configuration in a serving plmn in the presence of a default configuration for the ue for all plmns

An apparatus comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one memory including computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to at least:
• receive an indication that a user equipment is using a default configuration for at least one service available at a network, when the user equipment is configured with the default configuration but does not include a network specific configuration for the network;
• detect, based on the indication, the user equipment is to be updated with a network specific configuration;
• and
• send, in response to the detected indication, the network specific configuration.

A method comprising:

• receiving, at a network node, an indication that a user equipment is using a default configuration for at least one service available at a network, when the user equipment is configured with the default configuration but does not include a network specific configuration for the network;
• detecting, at the network node and based on the indication, the user equipment is to be updated with a network specific configuration;
• and
• sending, at the network node and in response to the detected indication, the network specific configuration.
