Abstract
An image decoding method according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: acquiring encoding tree unit information from an image stream; acquiring signaling information on a maximum coding unit size of a coding unit divided from the encoding tree unit; and dividing the encoding tree unit by steps according to the signaling information.
Claims12
A method of decoding an image, the method comprising:
- acquiring coding tree unit information from an image stream;
- acquiring signaling information on a maximum coding unit size of coding units resulting from partitioning the coding tree unit;
- and
- partitioning the coding tree unit stepwise according to the signaling information.
A method of encoding an image, the method comprising:
- acquiring a picture to be encoded;
- partitioning the picture into coding tree units of a predetermined size;
- determining a maximum coding unit size of coding units resulting from partitioning the coding tree unit, independently from a size of the coding tree unit;
- and
- processing signaling for the maximum coding unit size.
An apparatus for encoding an image, the apparatus comprising:
- a picture partitioning module acquiring a picture to be encoded and partitioning the picture into coding tree units having a predetermined size, wherein the picture partitioning module determines a maximum coding unit size of coding units resulting from the partitioning from a coding tree unit independently from the coding tree unit and processes signaling for the maximum coding unit size.
