Abstract
A signal transmission method includes: a first terminal device sends at least one first sequence to a network device, a one-to-one correspondence existing between the at least one first sequence and the number of beams supported by the first terminal device, so that the network device can accurately measure beams and the terminal device can transmit uplink data by selecting proper beams.

A signal transmission method, comprising:
- sending, by a first terminal device, at least one first sequence to a network device, wherein a first correspondence exists between the at least one first sequence and a number of beams supported by the first terminal device.

- receiving, by a network device, at least one first sequence sent by a first terminal device, wherein a first correspondence exists between the at least one first sequence and a number of beams supported by the first terminal device;
- and
- determining, by the network device based on the at least one first sequence, the number of the beams supported by the first terminal device.
