Abstract
A photovoltaic device interconnect contains a first connection region, a second connection region, and an overlap region disposed between the first and second connection regions. The interconnect includes an electrically conductive layer disposed in the first, second, and overlap regions. The conductive layer includes an electrically conductive network of nanowires. A first dielectric layer is disposed on a lower surface of the conductive layer in the first connection region and the overlap region, and a second dielectric layer is disposed on an upper surface of the conductive layer in the second connection region and the overlap region.
Claims20
A photovoltaic device interconnect having a first connection region, a second connection region, and an overlap region disposed between the first and second connection regions, the interconnect comprising:
- an electrically conductive layer disposed in the first, second, and overlap regions, the conductive layer comprising an electrically conductive network of nanowires;
- a first dielectric layer disposed on a lower surface of the conductive layer in the first connection region and the overlap region;
- and
- a second dielectric layer disposed on an upper surface of the conductive layer in the second connection region and the overlap region.
A method of making a photovoltaic device interconnect, comprising:
- applying a nanowire solution to a transparent first dielectric layer, to form an electrically conductive first sublayer on the first dielectric layer;
- applying the nanowire solution to a transparent second dielectric layer to form an electrically conductive second sublayer on the second dielectric layer;
- partially overlapping the first and second dielectric layers;
- and
- adhering overlapped portions of the first and second dielectric layers to one another, such that a portion of the first sublayer electrically contacts a portion of the second sublayer.
