Polygon model generating apparatus, polygon model generation method, and program

A polygon model generation method comprising:

• generating a polygon model that includes plural polygons on a basis of point group data indicating a group of points in a virtual space;
• determining a value of a point density correlated with a point belonging to the group of points on a basis of a distribution of the group of points;
• and,
• in a case where a length of a side constituting the polygon exceeds a threshold value in accordance with the value of the point density correlated with an end point of the side, deleting the polygon from the polygon model.

A program for a computer, comprising:

• by a program model generating part, generating a polygon model that includes plural polygons on a basis of point group data indicating a group of points in a virtual space;
• by a point density value determining part, determining a value of a point density correlated with a point belonging to the group of points on a basis of a distribution of the group of points;
• and
• by a long-side polygon deleting part, in a case where a length of a side constituting the polygon exceeds a threshold value in accordance with the value of the point density correlated with an end point of the side, deleting the polygon from the polygon model.
