Abstract
Systems and methods are described for obfuscating variants of content segments. Variants of content segments can be used to encode an identifying sequence in a transmission of content. The variants of the content segments can each include one or more marked frames and one or more unmarked frames. Variations can be introduced into the unmarked frames for each of the variants of the content segments.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- generating a plurality of variants of a content segment of a plurality of content segments, wherein each variant of the content segment comprises one or more marked frames and one or more unmarked frames;
- encoding the one or more unmarked frames for each variant of the content segment according to a different one or more encoding parameters;
- determining an identifying sequence for a transmission of content, wherein each entry in the identifying sequence indicates a variant of the plurality of variants;
- and
- sending, to a user device, a content stream based on the identifying sequence.

A method comprising:
- generating a plurality of variants of a content segment of a plurality of content segments, wherein each variant of the content segment comprises one or more marked frames and one or more unmarked frames, wherein the one or more unmarked frames for each variant of the content segment are quantized according to different one or more quantization parameters;
- determining an identifying sequence for a transmission of content, wherein each entry in the identifying sequence indicates a variant plurality of variants;
- and
- sending, to a user device, a content stream based on the identifying sequence.

A method comprising:
- decoding a content segment of a plurality of content segments;
- generating a plurality of variants of the content segment by modifying one or more first frames of the content segment to identify a variant of the plurality of variants;
- encoding each of the plurality of variants of the content segment, wherein one or more second frames for each variant of the content segment are quantized according to different one or more quantization parameters;
- determining an identifying sequence for a transmission of content, wherein each entry in the identifying sequence indicates one of the plurality of variants;
- and
- sending, to a user device, a content stream based on the identifying sequence.
