Abstract
The present disclosure provides a display device having a touch sensor for securing improved touch-sensing performance. The display device having a touch sensor includes a shield electrode and a touch electrode, which are sequentially disposed on an encapsulation unit covering a light-emitting element. While a touch-driving signal is applied to the touch electrode, a load free driving signal of which at least one of the phase or the amplitude is the same as that of the touch-driving signal is supplied to the shield electrode, thereby securing improved touch-sensing performance.
Claims16
A display device having a touch sensor, comprising:
- a light-emitting element disposed on a substrate;
- an encapsulation unit disposed on the light-emitting element;
- a plurality of touch electrodes disposed on the encapsulation unit;
- a shield electrode disposed between the light-emitting element and the plurality of touch electrodes;
- and
- a plurality of routing lines, each of the routing lines being electrically connected to the touch electrodes, the routing lines being disposed along a side surface of the encapsulation unit in a non-active area of the display device,
- wherein, while a touch-driving signal (TDS) is applied to the plurality of touch electrodes, a load free driving signal (LFD) is supplied to the shield electrode, and
- wherein at least one of a phase or an amplitude of the load free driving signal (LFD) is substantially the same as a phase or an amplitude of the touch-driving signal (TDS).
