Abstract
An autonomous production system including a transformation unit adapted to transform an ontology representation of actions of the autonomous production system into a corresponding planning representation; an artificial intelligence planning unit adapted to compute an action plan including a sequence of instantiated actions based on the planning representation; and a retransformation unit adapted to transform the computed action plan into an ontology language representation providing transparency information about the computed action plan.

An autonomous production system comprising:
- a transformation unit adapted to transform an ontology representation of actions of the autonomous production system into a corresponding planning representation;
- an artificial intelligence planning unit adapted to compute an action plan comprising a sequence of instantiated actions based on the planning representation;
- and
- a retransformation unit adapted to transform the computed action plan into an ontology language representation providing transparency information about the computed action plan.
A method for providing transparency in an autonomous production system, the method comprising the steps of:
- (a) transforming an ontology representation of actions to be performed by the autonomous production system into a corresponding planning representation;
- (b) computing by an artificial intelligence planning unit an action plan comprising a sequence of instantiated actions based on the planning representation of the actions;
- (c) transforming the computed action plan into an ontology representation process to provide automatically transparency information about the computed action plan.
