Abstract
A cover for an optical device includes a concave surface, a convex surface, a hydrophobic coating, and an adhesive. The convex surface is formed on an opposite side of the cover than the concave surface. The hydrophobic coating is formed on the convex surface. The adhesive is disposed on the concave surface and is operable to attach the cover to the optical device.

A cover for an optical device, the cover comprising:
- a concave surface;
- a convex surface formed on an opposite side of the cover than the concave surface;
- a hydrophobic coating formed on the convex surface;
- and
- an adhesive disposed on the concave surface and operable to attach the cover to the optical device.

A method for making a cover for an optical device, the method comprising:
- applying a hydrophobic coating to a convex surface of the cover, the convex surface having an opposite side defined by a concave surface;
- and
- applying an adhesive to the concave surface, the adhesive operable to attach the cover to the optical device.
