Underwater laser based modeling device

An image acquisition unit comprising:

• a body;
• and
• a first camera moveably mounted to the body to adjust the first camera based on at least one underwater structure;
• the
• a first laser device mounted to the body and corresponding to the first camera, wherein the first laser device is configured to a first illumination setting;
• a second camera moveably mounted to the body to adjust the second camera based on the at least one underwater structure and independent from the first cameras;
• a second laser device mounted to the body and corresponding to the second camera, wherein the second laser device is configured to a second illumination setting;
• wherein each camera of the first and second cameras is configured to capture light emitted at a predetermined scan rate by the corresponding laser device and reflected by the at least one underwater structure, and generate a data set corresponding to the captured light.

A system comprising:

• an image acquisition unit for obtaining data comprising:
• a body;
• a first camera moveably coupled to the body to adjust the first camera based on at least one underwater structure;
• a first laser light fan device corresponding to the first camera and configured to a first illumination setting;
• wherein, the first camera is configured to capture light during the first illumination setting and generate a first set of data representative of the first laser fan device projecting on the at least one underwater structure at a predetermined scan rate;
• a control unit configured to trigger the first laser light fan device at a first predetermined interval corresponding to the first illumination setting;
• and
• a processing unit configured to receive the data from the first camera, detect the at least one underwater structure, and construct a profile of the at least one underwater structure.

A method of generating at least one three-dimensional representation of at least one underwater structure, the method comprising:

• activating a first laser light fan device having a first illumination setting;
• capturing light, at a first camera moveably mounted to a body, during the first illumination setting;
• adjusting the first camera based on the at least one underwater structure;
• generating a first set of data representative of the first laser fan device projecting on the at least one underwater structure at a predetermined scan rate;
• activating a second laser light fan device having a second illumination setting;
• capturing light, at a second camera moveably mounted to the body, during the second illumination setting;
• adjusting the second camera, independent from the first camera, based on the at least one underwater structure;
• generating a second set of data representative of the second laser fan device projecting on the at least one underwater structure at the predetermined scan rate;
• and
• compiling the first set of data and the second set of data into a composite set of data.
