Abstract
Systems and methods for generating and decoding messages including header extensions are provided. It can be determined that a header extension is required for signaling a LCID value. A MAC sub-header including an indicator that the LCID value is extended can be generated and transmitted. A received message including a header extension can be decoded appropriately.
Claims43
A method performed by a transmitting node, the method comprising:
- determining that a header extension is required for signaling a Logical Channel Identifier (LCD) value;
- generating a Medium Access Control (MAC) sub-header including an indicator that the LCID value is extended;
- and
- transmitting a message including the generated MAC sub-header.
A transmitting node comprising circuitry including a processor and a memory, the memory containing instructions executable by the processor whereby the transmitting node is operative to:
- determine that a header extension is required for signaling a Logical Channel Identifier (LCID) value;
- generate a Medium Access Control (MAC) sub-header including an indicator that the LCID value is extended;
- and
- transmit a message including the generated MAC sub-header.
A method performed by a receiving node, the method comprising:
- receiving a message including a Medium Access Control (MAC) sub-header;
- determining that the received message includes an extended header for signaling a Logical Channel Identifier (LCID) value in accordance with an indicator in the MAC sub-header;
- and
- decoding the received message in accordance with the extended header.
A receiving node comprising circuitry including a processor and a memory, the memory containing instructions executable by the processor whereby the receiving node is operative to:
- receive a message including a Medium Access Control (MAC) sub-header;
- determine that the received message includes an extended header for signaling a Logical Channel Identifier (LCID) value in accordance with an indicator in the MAC sub-header;
- and
- decode the received message in accordance with the extended header.
