Abstract
An adjustable under cabinet LED light fixture having a tube holding LEDs that can be rotated to different amounts to direct illumination in a particular direction. The LED light fixture can be moved relative to a mounted plate attached to the bottom of a cabinet or the ceiling of a compartment below a sink or the like in a horizontal direction, and held to the mounted plate by magnetic attraction. The LED light fixture can also be dimmable to vary the color temperature of the LED illumination.
Claims14
An adjustable under cabinet LED light fixture for attachment to an upper support surface for providing illumination, said adjustable under cabinet LED light fixture comprising:
- an adjustable under cabinet light fixture comprising:
- a wall structure including an LED tube locating structure;
- and
- a ferrous backboard;
- and
- a light transmitting tube attached to said wall structure;
- and
- LED illumination components for generating illumination through said light transmitting tube in response to receiving electricity;
- a mounting plate for being secured to the upper support surface;
- and
- at least one magnet for providing magnetic attraction to hold said adjustable under cabinet LED light fixture to said mounting plate, said adjustable under cabinet LED light fixture being movable relative to said mounting plate provided said adjustable under cabinet LED light fixture remains under sufficient magnetic attraction to hold said adjustable under cabinet LED light fixture against said mounted plate.
An under cabinet LED light fixture for attachment to the underside of an upper support for providing illumination, said under cabinet LED light fixture comprising:
- a holding member for being mounted to the underside of the upper support;
- an LED light fixture attachable to said holding member;
- and
- at least one of a first magnet being attached to one of said holding member and said LED light fixture, and a selected one of a ferrous material, said ferrous material being a selected one of composing and being attached to the other of said holding member and said LED light fixture, and at least one second magnet being attached to the other of said holding member and said LED light fixture;
- wherein said holding member and said LED light fixture being mutually engaged together in response to the magnetic attraction between said at least one magnet and the selected one of the ferrous material and said at least one second magnet, to place said LED light fixture in contact with said holding member, said LED light fixture being movable with respect to said holding member and being held in a desired position against said holding member provided said magnetic attraction is sufficient to enable LED light fixture to be held against said holding member.
An under-cabinet light fixture according to claim 15 wherein said LED light fixture comprises a light transmission member for containing an array of LEDs, said LED illumination transmission member having a full light transmission portion and a less than full light transmission portion;
- wherein said light transmission portion is movable with respect to said array of LEDs to vary the light being transmitted by said light transmission portion between a full light transmission and a less than full light transmission.
