Abstract
A process for separating trichomes from non-trichome materials, and more particularly to a process for separating trichomes that utilizes an aeration step, trichomes produced therefrom, and fibrous structures produced using such trichomes are provided.
Claims20
A process for extracting trichomes from non-trichome materials, the process comprising the steps of:
- a. providing a mixture of trichomes and non-trichome materials;
- b. adding water to the mixture to form a slurry;
- c. physically separating the trichomes from the non-trichome material by one or more of the following steps:
- i. aerating the slurry and ii. screening the slurry such that the trichomes physically separate from the non-trichome materials;
- and
- d. removing at least a portion of the trichomes from the slurry.
