Abstract
The present invention provides a method for controlling a robotic device, comprising the steps of, receiving at a computing device at least one command arranged to effect an operation on the robotic device, reviewing the command to determine whether the command is suitable for execution, wherein the command is provided to the device only if the command is suitable for execution.

1-28. (canceled)
A computing device (or a robotic device or vehicle comprising:
- one or more processors for controlling operations of the computing device;
- a receiver/transmitter or communication interface or module configured to communicate with a server over a network;
- and
- a memory for storing data and program instructions used by the one or more processors, wherein the one or more processors arc configured to execute instructions stored in the memory to:
- identify or detect at least one unknown, unanticipated, unexpected, abnormal or environmental characteristic or factor;
- send information based on the at least one unknown, unanticipated, unexpected, abnormal or environmental characteristic or factor received from one or more sensors or scanners associated with, on-board, fixed or local to the robotic device or vehicle to an operator, user, host, registry, governing body or service provider using the server;
- receive a command sent by the operator, user, host, registry, governing body or service provider relating to one or more robotic device or vehicle units, modules or systems;
- and
- send the command to the one or more robotic device or vehicle units, modules or systems for execution.
The computing device of claim 2, wherein the information received from the one or more sensors or scanners is sent to the operator, user, host, registry, governing body or service provider upon identification or detection of the at least one unknown, unanticipated, unexpected, abnormal or environmental characteristic or factor.
A computer-implemented method for a robotic device or vehicle, comprising:
- identifying or detecting, using one or more processors, at least one unknown, unanticipated, unexpected, abnormal or environmental characteristic or factor if at least one of:
- information received from one or more sensors or scanners about a currently captured operating environment of the robotic device or vehicle contrasting stored, planned or calculated data about the currently captured operating environment, or
- the robotic device or vehicle is located in a specific or particular environment, place, space, area or zone;
- sending information based on the at least one unknown, unanticipated, unexpected, abnormal or environmental characteristic or factor received from one or more sensors or scanners associated with, on-board, fixed or local to the robotic device or vehicle to an operator, user, host, registry, governing body or service provider using a server;
- and
- receiving a command sent by the operator, user host, registry, governing body or service provider relating to one or more robotic device or vehicle units, modules or systems;
- and sending the command to the one or more robotic device or vehicle units, modules or systems for execution.
A system, comprising:
- one or more sensors or scanners associated with, on-board, fixed or local tit a robotic device or vehicle;
- and
- a computing device in communication with the one or more sensors or scanners, comprising:
- one or more processors for controlling operations of the computing device;
- a receiver/transmitter or communications interface or module configured to communicate with a server over a network;
- and
- a memory for storing data and program instructions used by the one or more processors,
- wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute instructions stored in the memory to:
- identify or detect at least one unknown, unanticipated, unexpected, abnormal or environmental characteristic or factor if at least one of:
- information received from the one or more sensors or scanners about a currently captured operating environment of the robotic device or vehicle contrasting stored, planned or calculated data about the currently captured operating environment, or
- the robotic device or vehicle is located in a specific or particular environment, place, space, area or zone;
- send information received from one or more sensors or scanners associated with, on-board fixed or local to the robotic device or vehicle to an operator, user, host, registry, governing body or service provider using the server;
- receive a command sent by the operator, user host, registry, governing body or service provider relating to one or more robotic device or vehicle units, modules or systems;
- and
- execute the command on the one or more robotic device or vehicle units, modules or systems.
