Disclosed is a medical device having a first implant portion having a proximal end, a second implant portion connected to the first implant portion, the second implant portion having a distal end, and a driver assembly removably connected to the distal end, the driver assembly comprising a drill connected to the distal end at a connection.

A combination tool and implant assembly comprising:
- an implantable portion;
- and
- a tool removably attached to the implantable portion such that the tool is separable from the implantable portion and adapted to insert the implantable portion into a patient.
A unitary construction combination tool assembly comprising:
- a medical implant portion;
- and
- an insertion tool releasably attached to the medical implant portion.
A combination tool assembly comprising:
- an implant portion;
- and
- an insertion tool connected to the implant portion by a connecting member, wherein the implant portion, the insertion tool, and the connecting portion are all of unitary construction.
