Abstract
Example systems and methods for controlling an illumination source are described. An example apparatus for controlling an illumination source may include a memory and a processor implemented in circuitry and coupled to the memory. The processor may be configured to process a first frame captured by a video capture device when an illumination source is active, process a second frame captured by the video capture device when the illumination source is inactive, and compare the first frame and the second frame. The processor may also be configured to instruct the illumination source to be active or inactive, based on the comparison, for capture of a third frame by the video capture device.

An apparatus for controlling an illumination source, comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- a processor implemented in circuitry and coupled to the memory, the processor configured to:
- process a first frame captured by a video capture device when an illumination source is active;
- process a second frame captured by the video capture device when the illumination source is inactive;
- compare the first frame and the second frame;
- and
- instruct the illumination source to be active or inactive, based on the comparison, for capture of a third frame by the video capture device.
A method of controlling an illumination source, comprising:
- processing, by a processor, a first frame captured by a video capture device when an illumination source is active;
- processing, by the processor, a second frame captured by the video capture device when the illumination source is inactive;
- comparing the first frame and the second frame;
- and
- instructing, by the processor, the illumination source to be active or inactive, based on the comparison, for capture of a third frame by the video capture device.
A non-transitory, computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a processor of a device, cause the device to:
- process a first frame captured by a video capture device when an illumination source is active;
- process a second frame captured by the video capture device when the illumination source is inactive;
- compare the first frame and the second frame;
- and
- instruct the illumination source to be active or inactive, based on the comparison, for capture of a third frame by the video capture device.
An apparatus for controlling an illumination source, comprising:
- means for processing a first frame captured when an illumination source is active;
- means for processing a second frame captured when the illumination source is inactive;
- means for comparing the first frame and the second frame;
- and
- means for instructing the illumination source to be active or inactive, based on the comparison, for capture of a third frame.
