## Abstract

Classification of the user of an attention application is moved from the cloud, where the classification is performed by advertisers based on trackers that follow a user, to the attention application itself. A user of the attention application controls inputs to the classification model and can exclude sensitive privacy information from inclusion in the classification model. The classification model is applied locally at the attention application to a catalog of advertisements and without revealing to trackers and advertisers whether attention was paid to particular ads. An analytics provider may have increased access to attention applications and can form ad campaigns and provide performance data thereon to advertisers without infringing attention user privacy. The system directs value away from trackers and advertisers and to attention application users and publishers.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of privacy user classification, the method comprising:
receiving a request for a catalog of advertisements from an attention application;
composing the catalog of advertisements, the advertisements being classified according to a taxonomy of categories; and
publishing the catalog of advertisements to the attention application, the attention application matching ads from the catalog according to a local user classification.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the operation that composes the catalog of advertisements includes receiving at least a portion of a user classification from the attention application.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the operation that receives the request for the catalog includes receiving information regarding a user of the attention application.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
receiving, from an analytics aggregator, analytics regarding the catalog of advertisements.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The method of claim 4, further comprising:
transmitting a digital asset payment to the attention application based on the attention measurements.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein matching ads from the catalog according to the local user classification includes a current activity of a user.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the attention application includes attention applications running on more than one hardware device.

### Claim 8

A attention application advertisement delivery system, the system comprising:
a device that includes at least one hardware device processor; and
a computer readable storage medium storing instructions for execution by the at least one hardware device processor, the instructions, when executed, causing one or more of the at least one hardware device processor to:
receive a request for attention analytics on a target market from an analytics consumer, the target marking including attention applications matching ads in ad catalogs based on a user classification local to the attention applications;
determine attention analytics of the target market with respect to at least one ad in the ad catalog; and
transmit the attention analytics of the target market to the analytics consumer.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The system of claim 8, wherein the operation that determines the attention analytics of the target market with respect to at least one ad in the ad catalog includes receiving attention metrics from at least some of the attention applications.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The system of claim 9, wherein the attention analytics received from the at least some of the attention applications include a zero-knowledge proof.

### Claim 11 (depends on 9)

The system of claim 9, wherein the attention analytics received from the at least some of the attention applications are included in a shared ledger.

### Claim 12 (depends on 8)

The system of claim 8, wherein the analytics consumer pays users of the attention applications a digital asset for attention paid to the at least one ad in the ad catalog.

### Claim 13 (depends on 8)

The system of claim 8, further comprising:
determining a success metric of the at least one ad in the ad catalog, the success metric being based on an amount of the digital asset paid per attention unit to the at least one ad in the ad catalog.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The system of claim 13, wherein the success metric includes a size of the target market.

### Claim 15

A method of privacy user classification, the method comprising:
consuming media content via an attention application to yield a user classification, the user classification being local to the attention application;
receiving an ad catalog at the attention application, the ad catalog including a plurality of ads classified according to a taxonomy;
matching an ad from the catalog of ads at the attention application based at least in part on the user classification; and
displaying the ad from the catalog of ads at the attention application.

### Claim 16 (depends on 16)

The method of claim 16, wherein the ads in the catalog do not include persistent state trackers.

### Claim 17 (depends on 16)

The method of claim 16, further comprising:
determining an output of the consuming media content operation that is not available to yield the user classification.

### Claim 18 (depends on 16)

The method of claim 16, wherein ad impressions are confirmed via a zero-knowledge proof that does not reveal identity of a user.

### Claim 19 (depends on 16)

The method of claim 16, wherein the displaying operation is timed to occur after a user of the attention application has completed a task on the attention application.

### Claim 20 (depends on 16)

The method of claim 16, further comprising:
receiving a reward of a digital asset, an amount of the reward being based on attention paid to the ad from the catalog of ads.
