A gripper for an implement for handling bales, comprising:
- a body including at least one support arm;
- at least one tine coupled to the body;
- and
- a cutting device, wherein the at least one tine protrudes in a direction beyond the cutting device in at least one region.

- cutting through a wrapping material that encloses the bale with the cutting device when the gripper is in the second position.
