Abstract
A system is provided for streaming media content in a vehicle. The system includes a personal media streaming appliance system configured to connect to a media delivery system and receive media content from the media delivery system at least via a cellular network. The personal media streaming appliance system operates to transmit a media signal representative to the received media content to a vehicle media playback system so that the vehicle media playback system operates to play the media content in the vehicle.

A media playback device with a media playback control button configured to receive manual user input for controlling playback of media content, the media playback device comprising:
- a body including a button cover depressible upon the manual user input, the button cover including:
- an outer layer including a button indication hole;
- and
- an inner layer including a light guide protrusion, the light guide protrusion configured to be at least partially transparent and extending at least partially through the button indication hole of the outer layer;
- and
- a button subassembly arranged under the inner layer of the button cover, the button subassembly including:
- a press input sensor;
- a lighting device adjacent the press input sensor and configured to emit light toward the press input sensor;
- and
- a reflective ring arranged to at least partially surround the press input sensor and the lighting device and define a boundary around the press input sensor and the light device, the reflective ring configured to reflect the light from the lighting device within the boundary and concentrate the light toward the light guide protrusion.
A playback control button assembly for a media playback device in a vehicle, the playback control button assembly comprising:
- a button housing including a button input area depressible upon a manual input against the button input area, the button housing including:
- an outer layer including a button indication hole;
- and
- an inner layer including a light guide protrusion, the light guide protrusion configured to be at least partially transparent and extending at least partially through the button indication hole of the outer layer;
- and
- a button subassembly arranged under the inner layer of the button housing, the button subassembly including:
- a press input sensor;
- a lighting device adjacent the press input sensor and configured to emit light toward the press input sensor;
- and
- a reflective ring arranged to at least partially surround the press input sensor and the lighting device and define a boundary around the press input sensor and the light device, the reflective ring configured to reflect the light from the lighting device within the boundary and concentrate the light toward the light guide protrusion.
