Medication disposal apparatus and methods of manufacture and use

A method of disposing of a medication using a medication disposal apparatus with deactivator, the method comprising the steps of:

• converting, via a first converter, the medication into a plurality of particles, the medication having an active agent, the first converter housed in a collection chamber;
• deactivating, via a second converter, the active agent and yielding a plurality of deactivated particles, the second converter housed in a reservoir;
• and
• storing, via the reservoir, the plurality of deactivated particles.

A method of manufacturing a medication disposal apparatus, the method comprising the steps of:

• forming a collection chamber having a first converter, the first converter operable to (i) receive the medication from the collection chamber, and (ii) convert the medication into a plurality of particles;
• forming a reservoir having a second converter, the second converter operable to (i) receive the plurality of particles from the first converter, and (ii) deactivate the active agent to yield a plurality of deactivated particles;
• and
• securing the reservoir to the collection chamber, the reservoir operable to store the plurality of deactivated particles.
