Abstract
Provided are a compound of chemical formula 1 or 2 and a use thereof. The compound can be advantageously used in the prevention or treatment of metabolic diseases including type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, or obesity, on the basis of a mechanism of autophagy activation through the promotion of lysosome production.
Claims9
A method of treating or preventing a metabolic disorder in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of a compound of Formula 1 or 2, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof:
- wherein R is F, Cl or Br.
A method of increasing an activity of autophagy in vitro or in vivo, the method comprising the step of treating cells with a compound of Formula 1 or 2, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the treatment results in the transport of TFEB (Transcription Factor EB) to a nucleus from a cytoplasm without suppressing the activity of mTOR (mechanistic target of rapamycin).
- wherein R is F, Cl or Br.
A method of enhancing an activity of autophagy in vitro or in vivo, the method comprising the step of treating cells with the compounds of formula 1 or 2, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the enhanced activity of autophagy by the treatment results in the reduction or removal of fats in the cells:
- wherein R is F, Cl or Br.
-7. (canceled)
A compound of Formula 2:
- wherein R is F, Cl or Br.
