Abstract
Disclosed herein is a system, method, and apparatus for harvesting follicular units from an epidermis. The disclosed apparatus includes a hollow tubular structure having a central axis and a trumpet bell structure that is attached to an end of the hollow tubular structure. The trumpet bell structure terminates at a flat annular face that is substantially in a plane perpendicular to the central axis. The flat annular face has a sharp outer edge, and an inner surface of the trumpet bell structure inward from the flat annular face is smoothly varying.

An apparatus for harvesting hair grafts from an epidermis, the apparatus comprising:
- a hollow tubular structure having a central axis;
- and
- a trumpet bell structure attached to an end of the hollow tubular structure and terminating at a flat annular face that is substantially in a plane perpendicular to the central axis, wherein the face has a sharp outer edge and wherein an inner surface of the trumpet bell structure inward from the flat annular face is smoothly varying.
An apparatus for harvesting hair grafts from an epidermis, the apparatus comprising:
- a hollow tubular structure having a central axis and terminating at a rounded base that is substantially perpendicular to the central axis;
- and
- an annular lip surrounding an end portion of the hollow tubular structure, the annular lip having an annular ledge that is substantially perpendicular to an outer surface of the hollow tubular structure and having a transition portion that smoothly connects the annular ledge to the rounded base of the hollow tubular structure.
