Abstract
Method for making an ornamental article, which envisages a step for arranging, in a 3D printer, a finish plate made of metallic material provided with an inner face and an outer face, and an augmenting step for augmenting, in the 3D printer, an ornamental body formed by a plurality of separate connection elements mechanically engaged with each other, wherein the augmenting step is attained by means of successive welding of metal powder layers, so to fix the plurality of connection elements of the ornamental body to the finish plate. The method further comprises a step for cutting the finish plate into a plurality of separate surface elements adjacent to each other and mechanically connected to the plurality of connection elements.

A method for making an ornamental article, said method comprising the following operating steps:
- an arranging step for arranging, in a 3D printer, a finish plate (2) made of metallic material and provided with an inner face (5) and with an outer face (6);
- an augmenting step for augmenting, in said 3D printer, an ornamental body (4) formed by a plurality of separate connection elements (7) that are mechanically engaged with each other, said augmenting step being attained by means of successive welding of metal powder layers;
- wherein said augmenting step provides for making at least one initial welding of a first metal powder layer on the inner face (5) of said finish plate (2) in order to fix said plurality of connection elements (7) of said ornamental body (4) to said finish plate (2);
- a cutting step for cutting said finish plate (2) into a plurality of separate surface elements (8) that are adjacent to each other and are mechanically connected to said plurality of connection elements (7).
