Abstract
An animal trap apparatus having a collection of individual components is mounted onto a rim of a bucket and comprises a plank having a bait receiving end and a mounting end, with a fulcrum feature therebetween. The fulcrum feature may have a non-circular cross section. A bracket with a notch is received by the rim of the bucket while a receiving feature having an occluded open end is configured to receive the fulcrum feature. In use, the plank is configured to pivot about the fulcrum feature in a forward direction when an animal approaches the bait receiving end thereby placing the animal trap apparatus in a tripped condition whereby the bait receiving extends downwardly toward the closed bottom of the bucket and the animal falls into the cavity. The individual components may be formed of a food-grade material.
Claims6
An animal trap apparatus comprising a collection of individual components, said components comprising:
- a) a plank having a top surface, a bottom surface and opposing sides, the plank including a first end and a second end, with a fulcrum feature therebetween, wherein the fulcrum feature comprises a pair of opposing posts, a respective post extending outwardly from a respective plank side and including a non-circular cross section having a post width greater than a post length;
- and
- b) a bracket comprising opposing first and second side panels, wherein each side panel includes an edge having a respective post receiving feature, wherein each post receiving feature defines a post opening having a post opening width, wherein each post opening includes a protrusion partially occluding said post opening and defining a narrowed opening width that is less than said post opening width and wherein said post receiving feature is configured to receive said fulcrum feature,
- wherein said width of said post opening is greater that said post width and said narrowed width of said post opening is less that said post width and greater than said post length.
An animal trap apparatus comprising a collection of individual components, said components comprising:
- a) a plank having opposing sides, a first end and a second end, with a fulcrum feature therebetween, wherein said fulcrum feature comprises a pair of opposing posts, each opposing post extending outwardly from a respective plank side;
- and
- b) a bracket comprising opposing first and second side panels, wherein each side panel includes a receiving feature, wherein each receiving feature is configured to receive a respective fulcrum feature of said plank,
- wherein each component of said collection of components is formed of a food-grade material.
