## Abstract

A docking device is provided. A portable information device can be removably attached to a docking device. The docking device includes first and second connectors that are connected to connection terminals provided on the portable information device. The docking device further includes: a first substrate with the first connector mounted thereon; a second substrate with the second connector other than the first connector mounted on the first substrate mounted thereon; and a substrate connecting member that connects between the first and second connectors in a floating state that allows relative displacement.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A docking device comprising:
a plurality of connectors connected to a plurality of connection terminals provided on a portable information device;
a first substrate of said plurality of connectors having at least a first connector mounted thereon;
a second substrate of said plurality of connectors having at least a second connector mounted thereon; and
a substrate connecting member that connects between said first connector mounted on said first substrate and said second connector mounted on said second substrate in a floating state that allows relative displacement.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The docking device of claim 1, further comprising:
a device chassis; and
a support member that supports said substrate connecting member on said device chassis, wherein said substrate connecting member is supported in a floating state that allows said substrate connecting member to be displaced relative to said support member.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The docking device of claim 2, further comprising a rotation mechanism that rotatably connects said support member and said device chassis so that all of said plurality of connectors are allowed to swing in a direction in which said portable information device is attached and removed with respect to said device chassis.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The docking device of claim 1, further comprising:
a device placement portion on which a bottom surface of said portable information device with said connection terminals provided on a side surface thereof is placed; and
a connection mechanism section that stands at a side of said device placement portion and is located facing said side surface of said portable information device placed on said device placement portion, wherein said device placement portion has a positioning portion that positions the bottom surface of said portable information device.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The docking device of claim 4, wherein said multiple connectors are allowed to appear out of a side surface of said connection mechanism section located facing said side surface of said portable information device.

### Claim 6 (depends on 4)

The docking device of claim 4, further comprising an angle adjusting mechanism that adjusts said plurality of connectors at an angle that allows said plurality of connectors to be connected to said connection terminals by rotationally moving said first substrate and said second substrate integrally.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The docking device of claim 6, wherein said plurality of connectors is provided to be aligned in a direction away from a rotating shaft of said angle adjusting mechanism, and said second substrate is provided in a position farther away from said rotating shaft than said first substrate is, and said first substrate is fixed to said substrate connecting member, and said second substrate is supported in a floating state with respect to said substrate connecting member.

### Claim 8

A docking device comprising:
a device chassis;
a connector connected to a connection terminal provided on a portable information device; and
a support member that supports said connector on said device chassis, wherein said connector is supported in a floating state that allows said connector to be displaced relative to said support member.

### Claim 8

A docking device comprising:
a device chassis;
a connector connected to a connection terminal provided on a portable information device;
a support member that supports said connector on said device chassis; and
a rotation mechanism that rotatably connects said support member and said device chassis so that said connector is able to swing in a direction in which said portable information device is attached and removed with respect to said device chassis.
