Abstract
Methods, compositions and systems are provided for the imaging of cavity/tissue lesions, including without limitation cavity/tissue malignant lesions, e.g. cancers of the skin, mouth, colon, digestive system cervix, bladder, lung, etc.
Claims23
1-66. (canceled)
A method of imaging an area of interest on a surface of an individual comprising:
- applying by topical application or surface injection a biotag that binds to a targeted molecule of interest, to a cavity surface or a tissue surface comprising a lesion suspected to be cancerous or pre-cancerous;
- and
- capturing an image of the area of interest so that the biotag is discernible.
A method of imaging a lesion on a cavity or tissue surface comprising:
- applying a biotag to an area of interest on the cavity or tissue surface;
- illuminating the cavity or tissue surface to generate a structure illumination;
- autofocusing an integrated imaging device on the structure illumination;
- imaging the structure illumination to calculate a three-dimensional image of the lesion;
- illuminating the cavity or tissue surface with fluorescent excitation wavelength;
- imaging fluorescent emission;
- illuminating the cavity or tissue surface with white light;
- imaging in white light;
- measuring an attribute of the lesion using automated image processing of a three-dimensional image obtained from the white light image and the fluorescent light image;
- inputting the measurement as input to software;
- and
- detecting a cancerous or pre-cancerous lesion from the three-dimensional image.

A method of imaging a lesion on a cavity or tissue surface comprising:
- applying a biotag comprising a detectable label to an area of interest on the cavity or tissue surface;
- placing one or more fluorescent fiducials on the cavity/tissue surface proximal to the cavity or tissue surface;
- illuminating the area of interest by an excitation light source in an optical band that overlaps an excitation optical band of the biotag;
- and
- capturing an image of the area of interest.
